  • Profile Actions

    In view-only mode, the following interface actions are available:

    • Edit Profile Button
      Allows you to navigate back to the editable version of your profile, should you need to update any information.
    • Static Avatar Preview
      Displays the most recently uploaded profile picture. This image is non-clickable in view mode.
    • View-Only Mode Notification
       A banner or message indicates that the profile is in read-only mode. To make any changes, you must explicitly enter the “Edit Profile” interface.

    Compliance Note:

    All profile data is stored and processed in accordance with United States privacy laws and clinical research standards, including HIPAA and IRB guidelines. View-only mode ensures data protection by preventing unintended changes and maintaining a clear audit trail of your submission history.

  • Summary Display of All Fields

    Upon opening your profile in view-only mode, the following information will be displayed in a structured summary format:

    Basic Information

    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Gender
    • Date of Birth
    • Primary and Alternate Phone Numbers
    • Email Address

    Location

    • Health Profile
    • Physical Disability Status
    • Disability Type (if applicable)
    • Trial Participation Intent (e.g., actively seeking clinical trials)
    • Conditions of Interest
    • Current and Prior Medications
    • Known Allergies
    • Prior Treatments or Interventions
    • Trial Matching Radius (i.e., how far you are willing to travel)

    Authorized Representative(Optional)

    • Full Name
    • Relationship to Participant
    • Gender
    • Date of Birth
    • Phone Number(s)
    • Email Address

    This summarized display helps you quickly confirm the accuracy of your trial-matching profile and make timely updates if necessary.

  • Save and Cancel

    The Save & Cancel functionality allows users to finalize or discard changes made to their profile with clarity and control. This section outlines what happens when you interact with either action and ensures you do not unintentionally lose or overwrite your data.

    Save Changes

    Selecting “Save Changes” will:

    • Store all updated profile fields to your secure DecenTrialz account
    • Update the information used for trial matching, including your health profile and location
    • Record the latest timestamp of the update in your account history
    • Immediately reflect changes in the participant dashboard, including the trial search filters and results based on your new profile inputs

    Before saving, we recommend reviewing each section of the form (Basic Information, Location, Health Profile, etc.) to confirm accuracy.

    Once saved

    • Your data is securely stored and encrypted in accordance with HIPAA and applicable data protection regulations
    • Trial matches may refresh if relevant eligibility criteria have changed

    Note: Changes are only applied after successful saving. A confirmation message will appear once updates are complete.

    Cancel & Discard

    Selecting “Cancel” or navigating away from the profile without saving will:

    • Discard all unsaved changes made during that session
    • Revert the profile to its previously saved state
    • Trigger a confirmation prompt to prevent accidental data loss

    Important: If you accidentally close the window or experience an interruption (e.g., session timeout), unsaved data may be lost. It is recommended to save periodically if making multiple edits.

    Security Measures

    For your protection:

    • All profile modifications are logged in your account activity history
    • Edits to sensitive fields (such as contact or health information) may trigger email confirmations or platform alerts
    • Only authenticated users with an active session can make and save profile changes
