Category: Trial Search & Filtering

  • Therapeutic Area

Therapeutic Areas refer to broader medical domains (e.g., Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology). This option is useful for individuals exploring trials across related conditions or for providers guiding patients toward relevant research areas.

    Category List

All major therapeutic areas are displayed in a structured, scrollable list. Examples include:

    • Oncology (Cancer)
    • Endocrinology (Hormones & Metabolism)
    • Psychiatry (Mental & Behavioral Health)
    • Immunology (Autoimmune Disorders)

    Trial Counts

Each therapeutic area includes a live count of ongoing trials under that category.

    Subcategories

Where applicable, therapeutic areas may expand to show related subcategories (e.g., “Breast Cancer” under “Oncology”) to provide further specificity.

  • Medical Condition

This category groups trials by specific diseases or conditions, allowing users to locate trials most relevant to their current diagnosis or interest.

    A–Z Index

Participants can navigate a full alphabetical list of conditions. This index enables quick access to conditions beginning with a selected letter (e.g., “A” for Asthma, “T” for Thyroid Disorders).

    Full Condition List

All supported conditions are displayed with user-friendly medical terminology. Each entry links to a dedicated condition page where participants can view all associated clinical trials and summarized eligibility information.

    Trial Counts

Each listed condition displays the number of currently recruiting trials. These counts are updated regularly and provide insight into available opportunities per condition.

    Link to Condition Page

Clicking a condition directs users to a filtered results page or a condition-specific information page, depending on the platform design. From there, users can apply additional filters or begin the matching process.

  • Advanced Filters

The Advanced Filters panel offers additional refinement options, such as:

    • Trial Phase (e.g., Phase 1, Phase 3)
    • Age Group
    • Gender Eligibility
    • Recruitment Status
    • Trial Type (e.g., interventional, observational)

These filters help users narrow down trials that align with their personal health status, eligibility, or preferences. The filter panel is collapsible for user convenience and can be updated or cleared at any time during the search process.

Key Note: All search activities are privacy-preserving and HIPAA-compliant. Entered data is used solely for personalized trial matching and is never shared without participant consent.

  • Clear Filters

The Clear Filters option resets all active search inputs, including condition keywords, location, range, and filters. This is helpful when starting a new or unrelated search from scratch.

  • Search Button

After entering the desired condition and location, click the Search button to generate results. The system will present a paginated list of matched trials, each with summary details, tags, and access to a dedicated trial page.

  • Nearby Range

Once a location is entered, participants may refine the search radius using a sliding selector (e.g., Within 10 miles, 25 miles, 100 miles). This allows for control over travel distance, helping participants find trials that are logistically feasible.

  • Location Search

You may enter a city, state, or ZIP Code within the United States to narrow results to geographically relevant trials. The system supports autocomplete suggestions and ensures results are mapped to accurate regional data.

  • Medical Condition or Keyword

    Participants may enter

    • The name of a specific medical condition (e.g., Asthma, Type 2 Diabetes, Breast Cancer)
    • General keywords such as blood pressure, insulin, or neurology
    • Trial-specific terms such as Phase 2 or healthy volunteers

The system uses semantic matching and medical taxonomy to expand keyword relevance, ensuring broader but appropriate results.
